How to Consign
There are many consignment options. We make it easy to sell through Harlowe-Powell, whether you are a local or distant consignor. We want to accommodate you!
Bring Your Items to the Auction House: You may bring your items into our gallery in Charlottesville, VA at anytime during our hours of operation M-F 9am-5pm. It is best to call ahead and make an appointment in order to ensure that the right staff members are here to help you unload and look at your items. Call (434) 293-2904.
Send Pictures of Your Items via Email: If you do not want to bring your items to the auction house, please email us quality photos (jpegs) of your items to information@harlowepowell.com, In the subject heading of the email please note: “photos of possible consignments.” An appraiser or auctioneer will look at the items and decide how to proceed with placing them into a given auction. You can then schedule a pick up, drop off, or ship them to us.
Make an Appointment with an Auctioneer to Come to Your Home or Business: If you have a large number of items for consignment and would like one of our auctioneers to see them before dropping them off, please call and make an appointment with either Norman Dill or Vernon Powell (434) 293-2904. We can also pick the items up for you, our pick up fee is $50 per hour for 2 staff people and a truck. Driving time is added to the time at your location.
Out of Town Consignments: People from all over consign through Harlowe-Powell because Charlottesville is a centrally located auction house in an area that traditionally gets good prices for many types of items. Our long history and record of integrity has resulted in many relationships with consignors all over the country. No matter where you are located, we would like to give you the opportunity to consign with us. Once an auctioneer or appraiser has approved your items for a particular auction, you can ship them to us and we will then decide the best auction in which to feature them.
